Program Supervisior | Seeds of Life Home Base

Penny Carter

Penny Carter began her career at Seeds of Life in July 2019 as a Supervisor with supervising staff members to ensure policy and guidelines are adhered to, and to provide them support.  Penny was recently promoted to Program Supervisor.

Before joining Seeds of Life, Penny was a Therapist and Case-worker whereas she advocated and recommended successful reunifications of over 75 families.  In that role she worked with clients with addictions, depression, anxiety, and provided domestic education for women that were victims of abuse: “when human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel”.  Her greatest passion is bringing healing to those in need.  She has helped her clients, which includes children, adults, and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole, and safe.  Penny brings to her position a well-established background of working in social service and supervision.   Before finding her passion in social services, Penny worked at FedEx for twenty-eight years, before retiring at the young age of fifty-five.

Penny developed a strong sense of being committed to mentoring young teenagers.  Working with them to promote healthy self-esteem and finding their self-worth.  Penny has also volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, and for the Girls, INC foundation. Outside of the office Penny loves to read and travel.

Her mission in life is to always remember a quote from Rosa Parks, ”Each person must live their life as a model for others."

Penny holds a master’s degree in counseling from Butler University whereas she graduated with Honors, and a bachelor degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
